After a week of basking in the sun on the calm beaches of a small beach town in Canelones, my husband and I decided to escape for a couple days and explore the entire coast of Rocha, Uruguay; something we hadn’t done in years. We grabbed the El País classifieds section, found a cheap rental car for just $45 a day through Potenza Rent-a-Car and set off on our short road trip through Rocha.
